The future of travel is something that we all often ponder about in day to day life. With pressure from the government growing for the population to turn to low emission vehicles, over priced public transport, and the price of electric vehicles, it is a wonder what the future may hold.

I decided an interesting take would be speaking to people whose lives revolve around their transport - automobile hobbyists.

The three people in question are all representing different subcultures in the motoring world: Classic cars, Tuner cars, and motorcycles. Interviewing people within different groups was my goal, as it allowed for a range of opinions.

It is my belief that the change to electric vehicles is too sudden and abrupt. Britain currently doesn’t have the facilities to compensate for a large quantity of electric vehicles. I believe a better solution would be to focus on growing the public transport industry, making it more reliable and cheaper. That way less people would be using their cars over long distances, therefore reducing emissions and congestion.

Another option would be a switch to hydrogen cell vehicles. They are low emission vehicles, and can travel long distances unlike electric cars. You refuel them like a petrol car, only with cheaper and environmentally friendly fuel: hydrogen. They expel water as a by-product from converting hydrogen into electricity for the motor.
