Racism in football is a recurring issue, with exanples of racial abusebeing highlighted every week. Yet it is seemingly not being dealt with properly.

Before we can be dealt with racism in football, it needs to be dealt with in the wider society...

Nowadays, some 'fans' resort to racist abuse if they believe a player has performanced poorly or perhaps the abuser disagrees with a view or on field decision. Now it is also affecting the fans in the wider football community, with 73% of fans attending football matches expressing concern over racist abuse.

This is a problem that is happening every week and does not look to be getting better, as any punishments are are generally insufficient; in many instances (e.g.social media) there is no consequence for the abuser. This is damaging footballers’ mental health and the situation does not look to be getting any better any time soon.

I have interviewed non-league footballer Jordan Rose, as he has openly spoken about his experience with dealing with racism, ever since he started playing football at such a young age. In every year of playing football, he has dealt with racism. He talks about his experience, why football in racism isn't improving and the greatest challenges in tackling racism in football.
